“the only people doing that are fringe nut jobs and Evil Republicans”
My how the world has changed.
The same people that were standing next to me rallying against Bush’s social injustice are now telling me to shut up about fiscal irresponsibility. These defenders of freedom and the right to protest are suddenly willing to dismiss hundreds of thousands of other Americans concerned about what the mounting national debt means to the future of this country and their children's future.
I am telling you. It sucks to be in the middle.
I have been called a “Tea Bagger” and its suddenly OK for News anchors to use this sexually derogatory term on prime time news. The same folks that decry smut when they see a nipple under a wet T-shirt now suddenly giggle like little school boys at the term "Tea Bagger" being used on the nightly news…. Go figure.
Is the news really even the news anymore?
I saw this and was disgusted at the CNN “reporter”
Clearly this women wasn’t there to report the news, she was there to be the news.
Sadly what happened in the beginning of the video is the general reaction I have gotten from the aforementioned friends and acquaintances. They cant seem to fathom that not only evil republicans are disheartened by this countries rising debt.
More interested in the politics of personality these folks poo poo the debt as a necessity for some reason, yet they refuse at every turn to respond when questioned on who the hell they think is going to pay this off.
Lets make this clear. This debt is the largest in the history of the world. It isn't “a little more than last year” it is phenomenal and unprecedented.
Not only should every American citizen be rallying and talking about the ballooning national debt . It is our responsibility to the generations of Americans (our children) that have to pay this back to do so.
If you cant see that then maybe all hope is indeed lost and we will see our once proud country become a history lesson for the next great country. Until then I will be proud to say I showed my concern for the direction my country is moving in and am not the least bit fazed by women like the reporter who want to turn the discussion away from the real issue which is debt to the politics of personality discussion she prefers.
You have a choice.
Be a tea bagger or drink the Kool Aid and blindly follow whatever policies come from the current regime, just because you like the guy in charge, without thought to what that means to the future of you and yours.
I chose Tea over Kool Aid, how about you?
